Lord & Taylor launches 'New York's largest dress destination' -- and it's absolutely stunning

Department stores are known for having anything and everything you could possibly need. Apparel? Check. Shoes? Naturally. Jewelry? Of course. Makeup? Obviously. Homeware? Duh. They're not called one-stop shops for nothing. But when it comes to Lord & Taylor, the brand noticed that one item of clothing in particular was at the forefront of the L&T shopper's mind.

"For our customers, Lord & Taylor has always been about the dress," said Liz Rodbell, President, Lord & Taylor and Hudson's Bay. "Dresses are the core of Lord & Taylor's DNA ... "

So the recent launch of The Dress Address on the fifth floor of the Fifth Avenue flagship store makes a whole lot of sense. The newly renovated, ultimate dress destination spans over 30,000 square feet. It includes a rotating pop-up shop that will cycle through various designers, a concierge (dedicated to connecting you with personal stylists) and The Gallery, an "elevated shopping experience" with designer dresses, such as those by Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Naeem Khan, Zuhair Murad, Temperley London, Antonio Berardi, Luisa Beccaria, Reem Acra and Preen by Thorton Bregazzi -- to name a few.

Take a peek at the gorgeous space:

When we walked into the gorgeously lit space a few days before it officially opened last week, we were legitimately in awe. There was so much space and yet so many dresses. We're not going to lie, one of the very first things our eyes caught was the conveniently located Sarabeth's café right there on the same floor (if you've never been to Sarabeth's, run, don't walk). It's pure genius: you can shop 'til you drop -- and then reenergize yourself for another round.

Icing on the cake of the whole tour (other than knowing that sustenance was always near, of course)? Without a doubt, the spacious personal shopping suites. Seriously, they're absolutely perfect for bridesmaid dress shopping outings (think "Bridesmaids" without the food poisoning). Not to mention the 35 other luxurious fitting rooms with call buttons, selfie sticks and illuminated mirrors for everyday dress shopping trips.

Let's put it this way, we didn't want to leave -- and frankly, Lord & Taylor is giving us every reason not to.
