PRINTERIORS
WHAT IS IT?
Now in its 6th year, Printeriors 2022 brings together the world's print community in a celebration of interior design and decoration. Each product on display is bespoke and created utilising multiple technologies in partnership with the FESPA community.
Located in the South Entrance, this years’ PRINTERIORS will be inspired by floral and fauna with artwork designed by Jaspar Goodall and curated by Debbie McKeegan, FESPA Textile Ambassador. Join designers, printers, and manufacturers from all over Europe in discovering the innovative and beautiful print applications and technology open to the printed interior design market.

WHAT WILL I SEE?
The Printeriors design collection originally created in 2019 had nature “front of mind”. It’s strong, powerful and will make a wonderful showcase – delivering the visual impact required - whilst also harnessing new applications to create surface effects and innovative products across the entire Décor eco system.
Products will cross all print processes, inks and applications in collaboration with exhibitors and their suppliers. This will include; Textiles, wallcoverings, laminates, metallic and hard surfaces, carpets, lighting, Lightboxes, Acoustic surface treatments, decorative elements, fine art and accessories. Materials include: Natural fibres, synthetics and recycled products alongside a growing selection of sustainable and responsibly sourced options with an environmental focus.
No surface is safe from digital disruption.
WHY PRINTERIORS?
The interior decoration industry is set for a new era of creativity utilising digital technologies. It’s a sector that has continued its meteoric growth throughout the pandemic. Driven by consumer demand, supply chain issues which have encouraged nearshoring and the increasing requirement for customisation and reduced stock holdings. Digital technologies continue to drive market change throughout the printed interior decoration sector and Printeriors showcases their application.
The digitalisation of the Interior Décor sector has seen significant growth in the last 18 months; as a sector, Décor is valued at $737.20 billion (retail). Industrial print applications built for speed and diversity continue to accelerate across the sector as the traditional textile and décor eco-systems re-equip to meet market demand.
Equally at entry level and medium volume - growth has been accelerated by the requirement for on-demand production - not only to fulfil orders in a timely manner - but also to meet the demand for customised and personalised production at any scale. This sector now also benefits from new entrepreneurial growth, and convergence from within the wide format industry.
Reshoring is also beginning to make real progress, with independent designers, small and large businesses and existing suppliers taking control of their own supply chains by moving printed production in-house.
Machinery manufacturers have been quick to respond. The last year has seen many new technologies, new machinery models and updates, and new applications across the entire sector: textiles, wallcoverings, laminates, leather, carpets, hard surfaces, 3D – all of which have energised the market and continue to create new business opportunities and new applications.
Sustainability at the surface
Sustainability is high on the agenda for technology, production workflow and materials. Traceability and transparency are becoming increasingly critical – clients are asking the right questions and the industry is stepping up to meet the challenge. Software plays a strategic role as we move forward to meet the UN SDG’s and other NGO recommendations. There have been a number of acquisitions over the last year as print machinery, equipment manufacturers and software providers converge and collaborate to deliver a seamless, efficient and sustainable digital manufacturing proposition. Therefore sustainability is a crucial element of the stands design and has been a primary focus as the project has evolved. The stand is constructed using sustainably sourced materials wherever possible, including low carbon aluminium and will be utilised for future editions of the Printeriors series.

In addition to long-established printing on cotton, it is also possible to print on leather with all of our GTX series direct to garment printer. True to the motto “One Printer - Unlimited Opportunities” you can print on leather without having to change the water based and certified inks or apply complicated modifications to the printer.
This makes it a valuable and sustainable feature for all users of our printers.
The printing on leather can be done on the raw material in order to produce finished shoes, bags or other items in the next step but, of course, finished articles such as backpacks, belts and many other things can be refined with photo-realistic (1200 DPI) 4c prints as well. Depending on the preferences of the customer, he can choose between two kinds of fixation (matt and glossy) by using only one special pretreatment
